I did my DIY home theater for about $15K including electronics and furnishings, so it can be done. Labor is costly, so he saved a bundle by doing it himself, and his creativity is priceless.

how can you do that for 12k? i would think the projector and audio alone would cost that.

FANTASTIC! If I had the space and money I would do a themed one, my theme would be based on the Fortress of Solitude from Superman The Movie. The screen would be projected on a big plane of glass to give the impression of a hologram feel

its not all about how much ur amp was or how each speaker cost £1000s its all about that fact they had fun putting this all together father and son and its why movies where made, to be enjoyed by the family. My hat is off to you both well done on such a well thought out and made theater.

This has to be the best home theater I have seen. Because I have looked at loads of them with high end components with loads of money put into them and that look nice and sound great but I think people forget that movies are for fun and this one just shouts out fun! fun! fun!

Here’s something to think about. if the new star trek online features playing captain from the bridge, just thing what it could do to have your PC setup in this room with the whole place rigged for red alert. Could be more of an experience for being there rather then just playing it.
