Product Description
Panasonic SC-PT670 Overview; High Quality Sound: The SC-PT670 uses front and center Bamboo Cone Speakers for crisp, clear mid- and high-frequency ranges and powerful, deep bass. A rigid, low-density bamboo material used in the front and center speaker’s cones helps achieve a clean, responsive sound. Vocals are pure and clear and dialog is crisp and easy to understand. The Kelton Type Subwoofer has an internal structure that is divided into two completely sealed spaces. The drive unit that is mounted to the space in the back causes the air in the front space to vibrate. This causes an Acoustic Filter effect in the front space to absorb unwanted noise while also vibrating the Passive Radiators. This achieves highly robust, reverberating bass sounds. Built-in Dolby Digital and DTS Decoder renders movie-theater-like sound while Home Theater Mode produces a total output power of 1000W of High Clarity Sound. Easy to Use: The built-in Universal Dock for iPod gives you a great new way to enjoy music and video3. Just slip your iPod into the cradle and enjoy. The dock charges your iPod , allows you to use the home theater remote to control the iPod , has on-screen audio menus, and also plays back iPod video. The SC-PT670 includes a High Speed 5-DVD/CD changer with Multi-format Playback: DVD-Video, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, +R, +RW, CD, CD-R/RW, Video CD, SVCD, WMA, MP3, and JPEG. Environmentally Friendly: Add to this feature set a Smart Setup mode with Auto Speaker Setup and and Energy Star compliance, Low Power consumption for Stand-by (0.1W), and you have an ideal Home Theater solution.

25|Dec|2009 1Bought this system as a first home theater system.Am very happy with the sound quality and dvd player.Hook up is easy. But if you want to
have the rear speakers wireless get the sc-pt770 system. The wireless kit comes with that system NOT with the 670.I ordered the wireless kit and its been on back order over month when this was written in August of 09.So ,like the system but I would buy the 770…12/1/09 follow up…wireless kit never off back order, and company ordered from canceled order saying no kits in site for long time.So DONT buy this set up if you need a wset of wireless rear speakers

25|Dec|2009 211/09 Amazon added this review to the new SC-PT670 system, review was intended for the SA-HT940: …DID love mine…now I don’t. 1. After little over a year of very conservative use I get an error message “F61″ which means check and correct speaker cable connections. After re-re-re- checking ALL and hooking unhooking, plugging, unplugging…still nothing. Call hahaha…customer support. If I could have a moment, finally indicated it was a power supply error…don’t think so. The Repair man phone # provided to me was not even in my “state” and when I called they indicated they did not even work on home theaters. SOOO GET an extended warranty…because time is out on mine. 2. Rear speakers after trying all of the adjustments and tweaks options…works…just ok. out of 10 rating would give them a 4. Have the wireless box..no issues, wireless works fine, but the speakers are weak. FYI: I have never abused the speakers by blowing them to the higher end of range. Other than that it has been a great system for my TV, music, and movie needs…now it is crap! I thought surely the speakers would go before the system. Anybody need a Wireless Box or 5 working speakers??????? NOW I have the SC-PT670 ($219.99 Dell Site) which does NOT have wireless system ..an extra $117-$130 WHEN you can find it, BO…still looking. Bought it mainly to go with the wireless box I have, not the same hook-up. The SC-PT670 same width reciver but much smaller depth/shelf space. After tweaking the speakers…it will do for my room size: 16 x 20. Again the surround speakers are weak. For the $$$, it will do until the fatal “F61 error.

25|Dec|2009 3I bought a Panisonic LCD flat panel Tv and the sound was not what I had been used to with my old tube Tv. This is a wonderfull addition for movies and cd music listening.

26|Dec|2009 5I bought this system expecting mediocre performance, given the price. On my other TV, I have a high-end Yamaha receiver with a Bose Acoustimass speaker system. I honestly believe the sound is just as good with this system, and it costs about $1500 less.
What I did give up are features and controls, and really high volume. You can make minor adjustments that I believe are fully sufficient, but not the wide array of sound settings and tweaks that are available for more money. Also, it provides plenty of good volume and sound quality for a home theater application, but the volume may be limited if you are looking to also use the system as an audio system to play when not watching a TV (music for a party, outdoor connections). That is not to say it won’t get very loud with good quality, just that is where a high-end system with more power can surpass this.
Bottom line, if you want a really good surround sound experience, I’m very pleased with this system. If you want all of the capabilities of a high-end expensive system…then don’t look for it in a $230 HTIB. Definitely recommend this product.
