15|Oct|2009 1Using a notebook is kind of hard to have 5.1 sound, this device allows it. Now I can see movies and connect it to powered speakers to have a Home Theater using my notebook.

15|Oct|2009 2Creative has a great reputation with its products. I needed a USB input device to take the line out from my receiver and use that as input on my Dell Latitude D810 notebook. I am converting vinyl to mp3. I could never get enough gain to get a usable signal so I had to return this item. In other contexts this item may work fine but for me it was not suitable.

15|Oct|2009 3I recently ordered a Creative express card only to have the order cancelled due to a backorder problem,I went to my local Circuitcity and purchased this sound blaster and I must say it improves built in sound on my HP greatly,Some other reviews of this product were not so good,I had some doubts but purchased it anyways,I am definately not sorry, the drivers installed no problem, you can even leave the drivers out and just let windows use the drivers from Microsoft.I am currently running Vista Ultimate on this laptop.

15|Oct|2009 4Initially I had problems in installing drivers (on IBM Z61T) and other creative softwares. But once the drivers are installed the sound card works perfect.

15|Oct|2009 5It does make my audio sound way better. There are a wide range of ports so i could plug in all my sound systems and my logitech z5500’s and headphones. It’s a nice adapter for a laptop that does not have optical out or digital out.
On the other hand, this thing is the worst product every. Creative does not make any good sound cards whatsoever. The drivers were not very complete and it constantly makes cracks/pops when i play any sort of sound from my computer. I would play music or watch a video and there would be a crack and another crack and another and so on.
Never buying from creative ever again.
So, i would not get this product if i were you, but it’s ok. I got used to the crackling and it made the audio way better than it used to.
